Kaula Inn!! Now the worst hotel ever

This was my second visit with family to this hotel.Previously our experience has been good. We booked a deluxe luxury room directly through phone from Chennai.I informed the staff clearly that we will be three adults and we will reach Kannur on the morning of 2nd June and we will leave on 6th afternoon after 4 nights stay.They agreed to it and accordingly the room was booked. We came to know after check in that the hotel management has changed and the name has now been changed to Clyfford Inn. The hotel staff was good to us the day we arrived at the hotel.However from the next day, the staff were indifferent towards us.They stopped cleaning the room, changing the bathroom towels, providing bottled water, tea bags, sugar, milk powder etc. When questioned, room boys told us that they had been informed that we are checking out the same day and hence not to clean or entertain anything from the room. There was no complimentary buffet breakfast as usually expected as well.Later on we figured out that a group of 25 people who were the relatives of CM Pinarayi Vijayan's relatives/friends were there in the hotel and that is the reason for this indifference. This is the most ridiculous behaviour that I have ever faced in my life at a hotel.I shall never recommend this hotel to anyone ever as this shows the attitude of the management towards customers. The hotel management claims that they treat customers in high esteem.This is the joke of the century as the truth is contrary to what they say. While booking the room, all terms were agreed to in principle, however while vacating the room we were asked to pay for an additional day out of the blue for an additional few hours even though late checkout was accepted on check in.This clearly shows that the hotel looted us. We argued but they insisted on the payment. Stay away from this hotel!!!!!! Worst hotel in the country to stay in.

This was my 3rd visit with Family to this Hotel due to the primary reason of excellent location . This time, we had booked a Standard Room via Makemytrip compared to Deluxe Room we had booked in our earlier visits. This time, we came to know that the Hotel management has changed and name as well to ClyFord Inn. And may be due to this change, we felt the overall food & service quality has also taken a hit. The Stay experience was just average and nothing great. The Food Menu remains the same and prices (expensive) as usual, but food quality has gone down (Chicken Briyani and other dry items were not as tasty as before) The Room Service was average. We observed a lot of Cost Cutting. Standard Room is Quite Small and congested, no place for an extra bed, (All are AC rooms by default). Deluxe rooms are actually better & slightly more spacious Split AC in the Room was not efficient, hardly any air flow and wasnt cooling as per our preference (temperature set) There was no Bell Boy to lift the luggage from car parking to Reception, we had to help ourselves and when we complained at the reception, the guy himself came till the room to drop the luggage, which was OK but we felt they are understaffed. The exhaust Fan in the Bathroom didn't work or wasn't efficient (though we could not locate a physical working fan, not sure if there was one hidden), so bathroom had always a foul smell throughout our stay. Though the Rooms were sprayed with Room Freshener at the time of check-in, it still had a left over Smoking smell while entering the main door. We felt the same in our 2nd visit too but ignored. Complimentary Break Fast was OK, it was order at the Table and not Buffet as seen earlier (so no spread of dishes, Juice etc) and Taste was not as great as our earlier Visits. No Good views from Room. Most of the Room face Back side of Hotel which are neighboring houses & shops. Otherwise, Room is quite comfortable with required facilities. I might not stay here again, because of not so good experience. I still liked the way Kaul Inn Management used to treat their customers. So I won't recommend this Hotel to people.

It was a very disappointing experience which me and my family have come across this evening .. we had gone to a very known restaurant called Kaula Inn in the town of kannur for a birthday party of mine .. We went in 2 cars with a total of 10 people . We were directed to park the cars by the security of the restaurant.. We parked it accordingly making it sure that it doesnt interfere any other customer of the restaurant... After some 10minz of time , when we all were set with our orders .. an unfamiliar person shouted at us to move one of our vehicle parked outside.. I went out and told him that it was the security who told to park it here and see it doesnt interfere any of other customer ... But the person started to shout in a very uncultured way as if he doesnt want to hear any explanations from me .. He asked me to move it anyways whatsoever the reason is ... When asked to him like why is it iritating him so much is when i got to know that he was the "so called owner "of the restaurant ...M. Abdul Jabbar (The chairman of ANJARAKKANDY MEDICAL COLLEGE too)This made me more surprising because it was not the way how we expect an owner to speak to his own customers.. I hesitated to do it as how he asked me to do because I was sure that it was not at all going to trouble any of other people and there was also this fact that the parking space provided were so less... He was not allowing me to get inside without doing as per he commanded (as if he is my boss) and that made me decide not to have anything more from his restaurant called Fresh Food (Kaula Inn).. When told him that we are leaving , he was so less bothered and moved his way inside as if it was not going to affect him in any way.. Well , I am writing this out to make it a point that when customers are hurt owners are ought to pay for it ....😂😂 And I request you to boycott this hotel and don't go there *Boycott Kaula Inn and end Capitalism in state*

Kaula Inn in Kannur is one of the best choice for a decent stay. Neat rooms, spacious and well laid, essential facilities and quite environment in the centre of the city. Ala Carte breakfast at ground floor restaurant. Quite and calm. Closer to railway station and downtown. a value for money property. Call direct for good package instead of going online booking.
